I. PREVIOUS MINUTES OF July 1, 2010
After review, motion was made by Wendy Scott and seconded by Diane Dyer to accept the minutes. Motion carried.
II. LIBRARIAN'S REPORT
Library added 60 new books & 90 DVDs. In addition, 63 young adult books were donated by book distributor, Ingram Library Services, or total dollar amount of $785. There have been 70-100 daily transactions.
Training is on-going for CW MARS.
Children's Program will end on August 19th and will celebrate with a certificate and an ice cream party for all participants. The number of children varied from 14- 23 weekly. Children's Program received a gift of $250 from the Otis Scholarship Committee for next year's program.
K. Bort gave an update on the accident report for S. Balayan, who is on the mend and still working. Don Chaffee and his crew repaired the ramp immediately. Larry Gould, Building Inspector, suggested doing away with the steps all together and

replacing the current ramp with a ramp and handrails in the front leading to the parking area. This will be looked into. Maintenance Department also repaired the front door which was sticking and K. Bort to call to investigate the water in the basement around the furnace.
The Stanmeyer event is going forward for August 26th at John Stanmeyer's gallery on Route 23. John will present a slide show program on the "Food Crisis and Shortage Worldwide." Should any books sell, a portion will be donated to the Library.
III. TREASURER'S REPORT
N. Levin gave financial reports and reported on the results of the Summer Fair. The show was not as successful as last year due to torrential rains in the morning. However the day proved to still be a huge success for those vendors who stayed, when the weather broke. It was proposed for next year that the price for the vendors be raised by $10/per vendor. A. Weinstein made the motion and it was seconded by A. Cooper. The motion was passed unanimously.
Discussion took place and then a vote on the renewal of the CD at Legacy Banks. The interest is very low but we are going forward for 7 months. D. Dyer made a motion to roll over the CD and it was seconded by W. Scott. Vote was unanimous.
S. Graves made a motion to donate $50 to the Otis Fire Department in response to their mailing. W. Scott seconded the motion and it was passed unanimously.
J. Morris to again chair the donations committee this fall.
IV. AMVET'S BARBECUE
Hank Wingate proposed to the Library that he be able to exhibit certain items of memorabilia and interest at the upcoming AMVET's get together barbecue at the Knox Trail Restaurant on August 14th.
S. Graves to coordinate the removal and return of the material. A motion was made by S. Graves and seconded by N. Levin and passed unanimously.
V. SUMMER CRAFTS FAIR
The date for next year's Summer Fair was chosen and will remain as the Saturday following July 4th which is July 9th, 2011. A. Weinstein to schedule the date with the Town.
D. Diane made a proposal that the Library purchase its own pop-up tents for the Fair, instead of borrowing the Kiwanis tents which require a great deal of manpower to set-up. D. Diane made a motion after discussion and it was seconded by W. Scott. The vote was unanimous. D. Dyer to try to find tents.
VI. MEETING SCHEDULE FOR FISCAL YEAR 2011
All the meetings for the upcoming year were decided upon, keeping the first Thursday of the month as the meeting date. The meetings will normally begin again at 7:00 during Daylight Savings Time and revert to 6:30pm during Eastern Standard Time - because of darkness.
VII. PANCAKE BREAKFAST
As discussed earlier, the Pancake Breakfast at Farmington River School will be held on Sunday, November 14. A. Weinstein to ask Lisa Thomas to print out her flyers for the Breakfast. The Library will once again have the 50-50 Raffle.
