MINUTES
Members Present: Nick DellaGuistina, Laurie Nikituk, Roberta Sarnacki, John Skrip, Anita Weinstein, Mary Turo, Jane Gleason.
Call to Order: Laurie Nikituk called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
Approval of Minutes: The Minutes of Meeting #247 were approved as submitted. Moved Anita Weinstein, Seconded Roberta Sarnacki. Voted Unanimous.
Approval of Minutes: The Minutes of Meeting #248 were approved as submitted. Moved Anita Weinstein, Seconded Roberta Sarnacki. Voted Unanimous.
Motion: To accept the First Reading of the Acceptable Use Policy with corrections noted. Moved Anita Weinstein, Seconded John Skrip. Voted Unanimous.
Western Mass Electric Energy Proposal: Jane Gleason reviewed the work being done under the Western Mass Electric Co. proposal in conjunction with the recent energy audit. Occupancy sensors are being installed throughout the building. The gym lights are being replaced with more energy efficient lighting and a more efficient refrigeration unit is being installed in the walk-in refrigerator/freezer.
FY2010 Current Budget & Expenditure Report: Jane Gleason reviewed our current budget and expenditures to date.
Early Retirement Incentive: Jane Gleason presented a proposal to offer a one time only Early Retirement Incentive of $5,000 or some other amount for people employed under the Teachers’ Contract who retire by February 12, 2010. Discussion was held as to the benefit of this offer in addressing the mid-year funding reductions.
Motion: To approve a one time only Early Retirement Incentive of $5,000.00 for people employed under the Teachers’ Contract who retire by February 12, 2010. Moved Anita Weinstein, Seconded John Skrip. Voted Unanimous.
Laptop Computer: Jane Gleason presented a proposal to allow teachers who retire by February 12, 2010 to keep their laptop computer, which they were assigned over 4 years ago. Discussion followed.
Motion: To approve the proposal presented, allowing teachers who retire by February 12, 2010 to keep their laptop computer. Moved Anita Weinstein, Seconded Roberta Sarnacki. Voted Unanimous.
Motion: To enter Executive Session under MGL Chapter 39, Section 23B, Part 3. We will reconvene in General Session only to adjourn. Moved John Skrip, Seconded Anita Weinstein. Roll Call Vote: Nick DellaGuistina-yes, Laurie Nikituk-yes, Roberta Sarnacki-yes, John Skrip-yes, Anita Weinstein-yes.
Motion: To adjourn the meeting at 9:05. Moved John Skrip, Seconded Nick DellaGiustina. Voted Unanimous.
